After assisting Ryan Flamingo's opener straight from a throw-in, USMNT star Malik Tillman dazzled en route to PSV's second goal in a 4-0 Champions League win Tuesday. The American weaved his way through the Girona defense before smashing a shot past goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga to make it 2-0 for the hosts.
A red card to Girona's Arnau Martinez ensured PSV would leave with all three points, which they did behind a late insurance goal from Johan Bakayoko, which was also assisted by Tillman, and an own goal from Ladislav Krejci.

Tillman was far and away PSV's best player on the day, contributing to three of their four finishes as he continues to rack up goals and assists. As things stand, Tillman already has five goals and an assist in the Eredivisie and he can add on a goal and two assists in Champions League play. Tillman nearly hit double digits in both last season, finishing his first campaign with PSV with nine goals and 11 assists in all competitions.
The 22-year-old midfielder is fighting for a place under new USMNT coach Mauricio Pochettino, who admits that Tillman reminds him of a bit of a star he used to work with: Dele Alli.
