By the Arsenal forward’s usual standards, it’s been a quiet season for Alexis Sanchez. The Chile international has found just three goals and four assists in 14 Premier League appearances this term and although the Gunners have hardly been the most domineering side in the division, it’s hard not to read more into Sanchez’s downturn in form.
After all, the 28-year-old’s contract is due to expire at the end of the season and seemingly seeing his future elsewhere, his commitment to the cause inevitably comes into question, especially amid a run of just one assist in his last three appearances.
With that in mind, we asked Arsenal fans earlier this week whether Sanchez – who Transfermarkt value at £58.5million – should be dropped for the Gunners’ Premier League clash with Newcastle this Saturday. And according to our poll, a whopping 68% of Arsenal supporters don’t want to see the South American in the starting XI.
