There is no denying that Rangers have gone off the rails in the 2024/25 domestic Scottish campaign, and whilst the November international break gives us some respite facts are facts, eleven games into the campaign we have a woeful goal difference record, have already lost three times and sit nine points off top spot.
Clearly we have consistency issues, the first team changes over the summer with manager Philippe Clement looking for a younger squad, with development and sell on potential, just has not worked as people had hoped (naturally newbies need a period to settle in), but bizarrely we are doing quite well in our Europa campaign and we are sat in tenth place just two points shy of the automatic qualification spots and SportsCasting UK’s list of the best bookmakers probably would not have featured one a month or so ago that gave odds on us being in that position.
That is our inconsistency epitomised in a nutshell really, but whilst our European form has undoubtedly helped our 50 year old Belgian gaffer remain in post so far, we all know that the pressure is almost at breaking point and our form just has to improve, and quickly.

Clement has made little secret of the fact that we missed out on some targets during the summer, and that he is now hoping to add one or two new faces in the January window to help stabilise us for the second half of the season, and if reports are to be believed we have recently sent scouts to watch Peterborough United winger Kwame Poku who continues to impress for the Posh this year.
The 23 year old single capped Ghanaian international began making a name for himself at Colchester United, but he was snapped up by the London Road outfit in 2021, and given their knack of developing players, he has really come into his own this year. After just over 60 starts for Colchester, his Peterborough record is just north of 100 starts, with a return of 28 goals across all competitions. 17 games into this season, his hattrick last weekend took him to ten League One goals, with a further five assists.
It is fair to say he is having a phenomenal season as he has single handedly accounted for just shy of 50% of their goals so far. Naturally, we are not the only club expressing an interest in him but should we decide to make a move, we will be keenly aware of the fact that he is yet to sign a new deal at the club, and with his contract expiring over the summer, unlike a number of clubs we can secure him to a pre contract deal in the New Year.
If the 23 year old was capable of hitting the ground running and replicating his form so far, his goal contribution to games impact would be a massive asset for us right now.
He may well be a name worth remembering.
